Abstract:
This proposal was developed in February 1993 by Tahir Khan and Thomas
Sawasky of the Technology Department at Auburn Hills, and Raymond Katz, faculty
member in the Humanities/Art Department. The impetus for the proposal stemmed
from an attempt to keep pace with technological changes in computer aided design
and manufacturing systems. This proposed new program option would bring together
the manual and computer aided design/modelling techniques. Manufacturing
companies in the Southeast Michigan area, including the major automotive companies
such as Chrysler Corporation, have shown interest in the program, designed to
prepare students for entry level employment in automotive/industrial modelling.
